Starting a DIY Sangha

Submitted by humble on October 22, 2008 - 12:17pm

One of the easiest ways to begin is to start with a group that gathers at a regular time, once a week, to listen to one of the dharma talks available on this website (Thannisaro Bhikkhu is very popular), followed by a short period of sitting and/or walking meditation. That way you don't have to initially be an dharma expert yourself - just know how to press "play" on your ipod and ding a bell now and then! The advantage for you is that you will need to listen to more talks than you play for the group so you will quickly become quite knowledgeable.

When you've chosen a day and time for your sangha let us know so that we can help promote it.
